Child Minding

PICS offers child minding services through a full-time Certified Early Childhood Educator and part-time Assistants. This program is able to assist parents who need extra support in order to attend classes at PICS and gain invaluable skills. Children in this program will be prepared for preschool or kindergarten. Through this enhanced child minding service, children will enjoy nutritious snacks and spend their time playing, coloring, writing, drawing and enjoying story time.

Child minding services are for children from 10 months old to 6 years old. Hours are from 9am to 4pm. Our child minding program nurtures and loves children in order for them to have a positive experience away from home.

We are a play based center with qualified staff and provide a loving and supportive atmosphere in a caring and enriching environment where our staff meets each child's social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional needs.

In our block area, children develop imagination, gross motor skills and social skills. In our reading area and table toy area little ones can foster their cognitive development and their pincer grasp. The children love our circle time every morning.
 
We provide healthy snacks but parents are encouraged and invited to feed their child and to change diapers.

We also offer parent sessions on a regular basis. Here parents are familiarized with Canadian traditions, celebrations, parenthood and crafts or art. This parent participation in activities prepares them for their children’s entry into the Canadian school system.

Our staff speaks English, Punjabi, Hindi, Farsi and Pashto which helps the children to adapt and overcome possible separation anxiety.
