Youth Post Secondary Success Day


The Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society, Vancouver Branch, will be hosting a Post-Secondary Success Day for youth aged 13-24 on-site at its Main St offices. The focus of this event is to provide tools for success to youth aspiring to either attend post-secondary schools or enter into the workforce. This fun occasion will take place on Wednesday July 28, 2010 from 11:00am to 3:00pm, and the itinerary will include presentations and workshops on scholarships and bursaries, volunteering and career development, resume and cover letter building, and time management. Case Managers will also be on hand to offer one-on-one advice to youth on their resumes and cover letters. Complimentary refreshments including hot dogs and samosas will be provided.
 
This is a great opportunity for youth to get valuable tips and feedback on what is needed to succeed at school and in the work place. Don’t forget to bring a paper copy of your resumes and cover letters.
